Ratio Definitions & Logic
Ratio 1 — Interest-Bearing Debt / Total Assets
Formula: (Funded Interest-Bearing Debt ÷ Total Assets) × 100. Total Debt strictly comprises funded interest-bearing bank borrowings (short-term working capital credit facilities and long-term term loans, credit lines, bonds, debentures, and commercial paper). Operating lease liabilities (Ind AS 116 / Ijarah store, shop, and warehouse rental contracts) are operational usufruct rentals, not Riba-bearing loans, and are strictly excluded from interest-bearing debt per leading national and international Shariah advisory standards. The standard screening threshold limit must be strictly less than 33.00%.
Ratio 2 — Impermissible Income / Revenue
Formula: (Bank Deposits & FDs + Bonds & Debt Securities + Other Impure Income) ÷ Total Revenue × 100. Includes all interest earned by the company (from bank fixed deposits, savings balances, debt instruments, and debentures) along with unpurified non-operating returns inspected directly from statutory Notes to Accounts (Note 30 / 35). Pure operational revenue is strictly segregated from non-operating returns. The standard screening threshold limit must be strictly less than or equal to 5.00% per leading national and international Shariah advisory standards.
Ratio 3 — Liquid Assets / Total Assets
Formula: Total Liquid Assets ÷ Total Assets × 100. Total Liquid Assets equals Cash & Bank Balances + Short-Term Current Investments + Trade Receivables (Sundry Debtors). The screening threshold limit must be strictly less than 90.00%.
